1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules and guidelines for using wreckin.parts. All users, including yard operators, staff members, and buyers, are expected to follow these guidelines. This policy supplements our Terms of Service.
2. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited on wreckin.parts:
Illegal Activity
- Listing or selling stolen vehicles, parts, or property.
- Facilitating any transaction that violates federal, state, or local laws.
- VIN fraud, title washing, or odometer tampering.
- Selling parts that are legally restricted or regulated without proper authorization.
Spam and Harassment
- Sending unsolicited messages, advertisements, or promotions to other users.
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users or staff.
- Creating fake accounts or impersonating other users or businesses.
- Posting offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate content.
Scraping and Unauthorized Access
- Scraping, crawling, or programmatically extracting data from the platform without written authorization.
- Attempting to access accounts, systems, or data that you are not authorized to access.
- Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any part of the Service.
- Circumventing security measures, rate limits, or access controls.
Misrepresentation
- Misrepresenting the condition, quality, or compatibility of parts or vehicles.
- Using misleading photographs or descriptions in listings.
- Falsifying business information, certifications, or credentials.
- Bait-and-switch tactics or deceptive pricing practices.
3. Inventory Accuracy
Yards using wreckin.parts are expected to maintain accurate inventory data:
- Listings must accurately reflect the current availability and condition of parts.
- Sold or unavailable parts should be removed or marked as sold promptly.
- Pricing must be accurate and not intentionally misleading.
- Vehicle information (make, model, year, VIN) must be entered correctly.
- Photographs should accurately represent the actual item being listed.
4. Voice and Audio Content
When using the Squawk Box voice broadcast feature, the following guidelines apply:
- Voice recordings must be related to legitimate part requests, inventory inquiries, or business communication.
- Recordings must not contain threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or offensive language.
- You must not record or broadcast the voices of others without their knowledge and consent.
- Recordings must not contain personally identifiable information of third parties (e.g., customer names, phone numbers, addresses) beyond what is necessary for the business inquiry.
- You must not use Squawk Box to advertise products or services unrelated to powersports parts and vehicles.
- Abusive or excessive use of Squawk Box (e.g., spamming broadcasts) may result in throttling or suspension of voice features.
All voice recordings are transcribed by AI and may be reviewed by platform administrators in response to reported violations. By using Squawk Box, you acknowledge that your recordings are stored and processed as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. SMS Usage
The following rules apply to SMS features on the platform:
- You must not use SMS features provided by the Service to send spam, unsolicited messages, or bulk messages unrelated to legitimate parts deals.
- Phone numbers collected or exchanged through the platform must only be used for legitimate business communications directly related to parts deals, inventory inquiries, or transactions conducted through wreckin.parts.
- You must not harvest, scrape, or collect phone numbers from the platform for use outside of the Service.
6. Enforcement
Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in the following actions, at our sole discretion:
- Warning: A written notice of the violation with a request to correct the behavior.
- Content Removal: Removal of listings or content that violate this policy.
- Temporary Suspension: Temporary suspension of account access while an issue is investigated or resolved.
- Account Termination: Permanent termination of the account for severe or repeated violations.
- Legal Action: We reserve the right to pursue legal action for violations that cause harm to the platform, other users, or our business.
We aim to be fair and proportional in our enforcement. Minor or unintentional violations will typically result in a warning before further action is taken.
